If You Don’t Claim Your Humanity, You Will Become A Statistic

There will never be an answer to everything. Especially to the greater questions bestowed upon our existence. Why do the things that happen to us, happen to us? Why are we lucky enough, so undeserving and, in turn, humbled, to be alive?

We all seem to be drawn to certain, specific, unique things. Certain colours, images, people, actions, words, sounds, smells, movements, anything interesting to us that we find are, for some reason, drawn to us. And we also are drawn to it.

This is what I found both confounding and alluring. What if we chased the subtle things that we were drawn to? Why do they appear to us and overlooked by everyone else, why does it matter so much to us? What makes things stand out to an individual person and why?

Treat everything like a message, I’m not saying to live you life this way  but enough to let your curiosities get the better of you and shuffle your feet over to whatever it was that was calling out to your heart. You’ll read words that no one else saw. You’ll go to places that you had never been to before. You’ll learn about things you had never previously thought about.

Sometimes you really need to let the world take you for a ride. There so much to see and learn. If we follow what we are drawn by, we don’t know where we end up, or who we meet. If we go to foreign places that speak in foreign tongues, we, ourselves, become a little less foreign. We grow, we become universal.

Is it fate? Is it chance? It doesn’t really matter, I guess. As long as we just listen to the whispers of the world, I feel like it is leading us to where we want to go. It conspires to help us. It’s something spiritual. Divine. It will take you to places you couldn’t dream of, but it was exactly where I needed to be.

I urge everyone to chase this strange sensation. Be spontaneous. Let it take to places you have never dreamed. Meet people you thought you would never know. Learn things that school could never teach you. See the world. And above all, know yourself.
