Everyday in our life we encounter forks in the road. These can be little forks that seem to be of no consequence or would be ever remembered such as deciding to eat with a fork or spoon. Or they can be huge forks that can be life changing such as deciding on which career path.
“One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. Which road do I take? she asked. Where do you want to go? was his response. I don’t know, Alice answered. Then, said the cat, it doesn’t matter.”
When we come to a situation we’ve never been in, you aren’t always going to know how to react or respond to it the first time around. Which is normal, we are human! However, that’s why we should not beat ourselves up over it because we chose the wrong fork or it just didn’t work out the way we saw it. Don’t let yourself stay knocked down and make sure you get up and go again. Learn from the situation and improve upon it.
What are your forks? Will you, do you, recognize these forks in that moment? Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts. We just have to choose the right fork in the road as quickly as possible to reach the forks we want to reach and where we want to be later.
