The important thing is not to be bitter over life’s disappointments. Learn to let go of the past… and recognize that everyday won’t be sunny. And when you find yourself lost in the darkness and despair… remember it’s only in the black of night you can see the stars, and those stars will lead you back home. So don’t be afraid to make mistakes, to stumble, to fall, cause most of the time the greatest rewards come from doing the things that scare you the most. Maybe you’ll get everything you wish for… Maybe you’ll get more than you ever could have imagined… Who knows where life will take you. The road is long and in the end… the journey is the destination.
The journey is an amazing thing that you just have to sit back and look at where you are at right now and see everything you’ve done to get to that point in the road. We’re all artists in this world and I love that “yourself” is something you have to do. Learning ourselves is an art that has its good days and bad days. It takes having relationships with various people in many environments. It takes bouncing yourself off of others and getting feedback from them, hopefully the majority of it being in a kind manner.
But that can be a tricky situation sometimes because it can be hard to know if what you are intending is coming off that way. You can not watch exactly how the look your face makes or maybe you’re just to busy on concentrating what you are saying to analyze how your voice is inflecting it. Everybody has those conversations where one person comes off bluntly saying what it is they need to and it could be more forceful than what you are used to which doesn’t necessarily mean that their intention was to be mean. It can just throw you back for a minute and your eyes open wide in shock. The trick is learning and knowing when to not get offended and just see it as an opportunity to also respond in the same manner. Not meaning as a throw back in their face approach but to make sure they know you are listening and that you want to be heard too and not just to cower and be overwhelmed by what just happened. With saying that though, makes me think of how I come off to people sometimes and am I the one that is causing them to respond back that way.
Ralph Waldo Emerson said “All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better. ” Isn’t life just grand?
